Fertile Land
Okanagan Falls is just north of the Sonora Desert and is situated in one of the most productive fruit and wine grape growing areas of British Columbia. The deep sandy soils of the southern region support the many orchards of apples, cherries, blueberries, peaches, apricots, plums and other soft fruits along with vineyards and nurseries. Much needed irrigation is supplied by several lakes that run along the valley floor. Nearly 60 hectares of farm land in the Okanagan is included in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). The reserve protects scarce farmland from urbanization.

A drive off the beaten path will uncover u-pick farms and roadside stands brimming with fruit as it comes into season. Look for local preserves, baked goods and other treats in our shops.

Welcome to ‘The Heart of Wine Country’. The Okanagan Falls wine region is home to thirteen premiere, award-winning wineries which can all be visited by following the well marked Corkscrew Drive self-drive wine route in and around Okanagan Falls, Kaleden, Heritage Hills and Skaha Estates. Over 600 acres are now under vines in the region which features Gewurtztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris as well as other popular varietals.
The Okanagan Falls Winery Association (OFWA) brings together the Okanagan Valley’s premiere wineries to offer you an exceptional tour and tasting of award winning wines from both east and west shores of Skaha Lake and the northern tip of Vaseux Lake.
